Value to Customer: The KIUC DPR is installed on the utility's side of the meter to control the variability of 3 MW of solar PV generation and act as a source of spinning reserves, while providing frequency and voltage ancillary services. The configurable control system allows KIUC to change desired ramp rates and service priorities in real-time.

Value to Customer: Per the terms of its Power Purchase Agreement, the solar farm is curtailed to 600 kW until it installs a solution that controls the variability to ± 360 kW/min. With the DPR installed, the solar farm will be able to sells its full 1.2 MW to the grid.

Value to Customer: The SolarTAC site allows for demonstration of many services with solar technologies. Xcel will be testing the DPR for performance when performing ramp control, firming and shaping, and ancillary services during its three year lease.
