Dr. Alan Gotcher brings over 25 years of leadership in material science technology companies with a proven track record in product and business development to his role of Chief Executive Officer at Xtreme Power. During 2008 to 2011, Alan provided technology, business and strategy services to Fortune 500 and startup companies for large scale, energy storage systems and nano-materials based product technology. From 2004 to 2008, Alan was President, CEO and Director of Altair Nanotechnologies a nano-materials supplier for energy storage, pharmaceutical and high performance market applications, and led the product and product development efforts to place the first grid connected, multi-megawatt lithium ion battery. Alan had a successful 14 year career at Avery Dennison Corporation as Senior Vice President, Manufacturing & Technology and Chief Technology Officer. Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Alan served in various technology leadership roles for Raychem Corporation. Alan received his PhD in Chemistry from the University of California, Irvine.
Ken Hashman brings more than 25 years of finance and operations experience to his role as Chief Financial Officer at Xtreme Power. Ken had a successful 17 year career at Dell Inc, helping lead Dell through its historic journey as one of the fastest growing companies of all times. At Dell, Ken served as Assistant Corporate Controller and head of SEC Reporting, Worldwide Manufacturing Controller, Executive Assistant to Vice Chairman Kevin Rollins, and Vice President/General Manager for Dell Services. Ken served on Dell's Sustainability Council and led as General Manager Dell’s Asset Recovery and Recycling Business helping to lead Dell into an industry leadership position in environmental stewardship. Prior to joining Dell, Ken served five years at Price Waterhouse Houston in the audit practice. Additionally, Ken spent the last two years prior to joining Xtreme Power as an independent consultant providing interim CFO and COO services to small businesses in the software, entertainment and high tech industries.
Ryan O'Keefe is Vice President, Business Development at Xtreme Power. In his current role he is responsible for Xtreme Power's product development and marketing, go-to-market strategy and top line growth at the company. As a member of the ESA's Advocacy Council, he is a thought leader on policy and regulatory issues in the emerging energy storage field. Prior to joining Xtreme Power, Ryan was Vice President of Development at NextEra Energy Resources where for over eight years he successfully started and led several new ventures, including the company's entry into the Canadian and Spanish markets. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) and oversaw the development of over $2 billion worth of utility scale solar projects in the US and Spain. At the start of his career, Ryan enjoyed a successful fourteen year career with GE, working in the Power, Capital, and International business sectors in the US and Mexico. Ryan earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Connecticut and his MBA from Columbia University.
Eric Schrock brings more than 10 years of controls and power systems experience to his role as Vice President, Engineering at Xtreme Power. Eric joined Xtreme Power in April 2010 and has been actively involved in designing, testing, and fielding >75MW of energy storage systems. Prior to Xtreme Power, Eric held roles in the fields of SCADA systems and Power Systems Design Engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas. He is an active member of IEEE and a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas.
Vijay Persaud brings more than 20 years of Global Operations experience to his role as Vice President, Operations at Xtreme Power. Vijay joined Xtreme Power in June 2011, and has been responsible for the Grove battery manufacturing facility and the Kyle manufacturing and test facilities. Prior to Xtreme Power, Vijay held roles in solar panel manufacturing, capital equipment development and manufacturing engineering of integrated circuits in multiple continents. He holds a BSc and MSc in Bio-Chemistry, together with the completion of the Executive MBA program at the University of Texas.
Walter L. Schindler is the founder and a Managing Partner of SAIL Capital Partners LLC, and co-manages all aspects of SAIL’s operations and investments. His primary responsibilities include capital, finance, operations, exits and communications. Under his leadership SAIL has been selected by the World Economic Forum as a member of its Community of Global Growth Companies and nominated for Private Equity Manager of the Year by Foundation & Endowment Money Management. Walter is a member of the Board of Directors of Xtreme Power Inc. and CNS Response Inc., as well as a member of the North American Advisory Board of The Cleantech Group, the Advisory Board of US Bank, and the Chief Executive Roundtable of the University of California at Irvine. Recently, Walter was elected to the Board of Directors of Fulbright Canada, the Foundation for Educational Exchange between Canada and the United States of America.
Hank Habicht II is a Managing Partner of SAIL Capital Partners LLC and is a pioneering figure in environmental business and government policy and a successful investor in environmental innovation. Hank’s primary responsibilities include investment review, due diligence, deal flow analysis, portfolio management, government relations and regulatory matters. Hank has held numerous Board seats over the years, currently he sits on the Boards of SAIL companies WaterHealth International, and Xtreme Power, and is a Co-Founder of the American Council of Renewable Energy. He is a Commissioner of the National Commission on Energy Policy, a member of the Board of Directors of the World Environment Center, and has advised several Cabinet Secretaries. He is on the Advisory Board to the National Renewable Energy Lab and the Pacific Northwest National Lab. In 1991 the EPA awarded him with the esteemed Total Quality Leadership Award and in 2009 he received the national Richard Mellon Award for Environmental Stewardship.
Umesh Padval is a partner at Bessemer Venture Partners where he focuses on investments in the big data, data infrastructure and clean-tech sectors. Umesh brings to Bessemer more than 20 years of experience in marketing, sales and general management in areas including computing, mobile communications and consumer-digital entertainment. Umesh joined Bessemer from LSI Logic, where he was executive vice-president of the consumer-products group. Umesh came to LSI Logic via its acquisition of C-Cube Microsystems, a public company where he served as president and CEO. Previously, Umesh held management positions at VLSI Technology, serving as executive vice-president of the consumer and computing products groups. Currently, Umesh sits on the boards of Xtreme Power and several other semiconductor and clean tech companies and is also active on advisory boards at Stanford.
Lee Tashjian serves as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Fluor Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, where he leads the media relations, marketing, employee communications and community affairs functions. Lee rejoined Fluor in 2002 after serving four years as Vice President of University Relations for the Ohio State University. Previously he served as Vice President of Corporate Communications for both Atlantic Richfield and DuPont.Lee sits on the board of Xtreme Power has nearly 30 years of experience in public affairs, communications, investor & government relations, marketing and advertising.
Pat Wood, III serves on Xtreme Power’s board and has served as a principal of Wood3 Resources, an energy infrastructure developer, since July 2005. From 2001 until July 2005, Pat served as chairman of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. From 1995 until 2001, he chaired the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Prior to 1995, Pat was an attorney with Baker & Botts, a global law firm, and an associate project engineer with Arco Indonesia, an oil and gas company, in Jakarta. Pat currently also serves on the Boards of Directors of Quanta Services Inc. and SunPower Corporation.
Foster Duncan serves on the Boards of Directors of Atlantic Power Corporation, Essential Power, LLC, Xtreme Power Inc, and on the Board of Advisors of NanoFex, LLC. He is also currently a Senior Advisor to EHS Partners in New York, and also a Senior Advisor to Industry Funds Management (US), LLC. Foster is also active in a number of civic organizations including the Board of Directors of the Eye, Ear, Nose, and Throat Hospital Foundation in New Orleans, and the National Advisory Board of the University of Virginia Jefferson Scholars Foundation in Charlottesville, Virginia. Previously, Foster was a Partner in SAIL Sustainable Partners of Louisiana, LLC, and was a Managing Director at Advantage Capital Partners.
